Spring term · 11 January – 19 March 2027

Twelve groups, four languages, one timetable

New groups start every January, April and September.

Every group runs for ten weeks and costs £150. Six chairs each — when they are taken, the group closes and the next one opens in April.

Six questions, one minute

Find out which group you belong in

Answer honestly about the language you want to learn — not the one you were best at in school. Nothing is sent anywhere; the answer appears on this page.

01Someone asks who you are and where you live.
02You are ordering at a café counter.
03Yesterday and tomorrow.
04Someone speaks to you at their normal speed.
05What can you read?
06A disagreement about something you care about.

Answer all six questions.

The five rungs

A1 You can greet people and order a coffee.
A2 You can book a room and explain a problem.
B1 You can hold a conversation about your week.
B2 You can argue a point and follow the radio.
C1 You read novels and rarely reach for English.

B1

Intermediate

You can hold your own.

An hour, with nobody else in the room

The same two teachers, over a video call, at a time you choose. People book these for shift patterns, for a job interview in Madrid, for the fortnight before moving to Brittany — and some simply prefer to be the only one talking.
